I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis when I was 14, then on my 15th birthday a few months later I was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease. The inflammation I already had spread throughout my large intestine and I was in and out of hospitals for a whole year without relief. Before I was diagnosed I had so many doctor visits and they would send me home with a stool sample to do and some medicine. One day it just got really bad, so my mom took me to the ER and they took blood work and I've lost over 2 liters of blood. I was super dehydrated. Eating and drinking anything was a huge struggle; couldn't keep anything down. November of 2016 is when the doctors said there wasn't anything they could do for me anymore since what they were doing wasn't working for me. Different diets. All liquid diets, new medication, tests, etc. and I wasn't getting any better. so my only option was surgery. My surgery saved my life. I got an ileostomy bag and I am now able to live life again."
